Our cow herd is run under strict commercial conditions in marginal grazing country consisting of sandy soils at Coolatai NSW.

Female Management:

• Birthweight on all Calves
• Heifer Joining- 8 Weeks
• Cow Joining- 12 Weeks
• Identification of Early Calvers
• A goal of 75% of joined females calving within the first 8 weeks- regardless of season & rainfall

From 2022, all of our animals bred within the stud will have their performance data entered into the Tropical Composite Breedplan.

Similarly, all sires will undergo DNA testing for:

• Slick Gene
• Double Muscle
• Parent Verification
• Horn/Poll

DNA Samples will also be utilised to generate Genomic Breeding Values for our herd, identifying profitable animals for both our and our clients' productivity.

We cull our sale bulls heavily throughout their lifetime at Planchonella Hill. We expect our bulls to perform on grass, with sale preparation consisting of fodder crops. Supplementary feeding only occurs during drought conditions.

Absolute Importance is placed upon:

• Temperament
• Structural Soundness
• Fertility (Semen Testing & Scrotal Size)
